Nearly every day, there is news about a better, smarter robot or machine invented and can do all sorts of cool things, replacing human workers. Today, I read there is a copying machine like a gadget that can replace some workers in insurance companies because each scan captures info from the document and it makes great analysis.
Machines can take jobs from people, but actually, on the other side of the story, many more people than ever are opting for working for themselves. For example, we see the uprise of freelancing jobs from many parts of the world. In the US, according to Freelancers Union, 53 million Americans, or 34% of the population, qualify as freelancers!
Companies therefore, are also having this problem of talent shortage and if they don’t address it, they lag behind in business. Talent shortage is likely to continue, as more people are accustomed to working flexibly for themselves with the help of better technologies. On the other hand, it makes sense for companies to employ better technologies too.
